Hoot Gallery Opening Party, Degrees of Separation, July 6^th – August 5^th, 2007

After Graduating from the University of Guelph’s Studio Art program, I was keen to get my work out into the public domain and actively participated in many group shows including hoot! Gallery’s opening exhibition and party. Hoot! art gallery held their first opening reception for a new group show called “Degrees of Separation” on July 6th 2007. The show featured the paintings of talented local artists, Janet Stanley, Miranda Bouchard, Kristin McDonald and Brittany Anderson, who is also the gallery owner.

Shortly after leaving the corporate marketing world, and after reading Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way”, I was inspired to experiment with painting in a variety of mediums.  At the same time, I was fortunate to meet with a group of painters we eventually named The Flaming Spirit Artists. Our first shows were held in our weekly painting studio at M. M. Woodcraft where I was delighted to sell my first painting, Tulip Tales.
